The Cunnamulla All Aboard project will grow the local tourism economy by providing new 'bookable' product and support new business and job creation.
The Progress Association has leased the station buildings from Queensland Rail and is developing an exciting evening attraction to encourage visitors to stay overnight in town. This will be an audio/visual and light experience, both educational and entertaining, presenting local railway, town and pastoral stories.
Who's helped get the project this far?
At the extreme risk of missing someone here we would like to recognise the Paroo Progress Associaton Inc. who have contributed many volunteer hours already, most of which have gone into landscaping the front gardens. Bougainvilleas have been planted to encourage a hedge around the newly turfed lawn. Volunteers who have assisted to date include the Paroo Shire Council; John Ashley; Sparrow Crick; Margie Brown; Bob Vella; RESQ; and all committee members.
The Project Committee include Karen Ticehurst as Chairperson, Merry Higgins Secretary/Treasurer, Judy Roberts & Kathy Ashley.
We need your help to keep this project rolling towards achieving the vision set by the committee and for the community of Cunnamulla.
